The International Hunter Education Association (IHEA) is the professional association for 67 state and provincial wild

life conservation agencies, and the 70,000 volunteer instructors who teach hunter education in North America.

Hunter Education classes reach more than 750,000 students annually. Since 1949, more than 35 million students have been trained. Courses cover firearm safety, bowhunting, wildlife management, field care of game, responsible hunting, landowner relations, wildlife identification, and much more.

Hunting is a safe activity, and it is getting safer all the time. Over the last 50 years hunting related injury rates have decreased dramatically, even as populations of deer, wild turkey, elk, geese, and other species of game have risen to record numbers.

During the 20th century, hunters raised billions of dollars for wildlife conservation in North America and championed the cause of wildlife restoration programs. Now, in the 21st century, hunters continue to be the most effective political voice supporting legislation to protect wild things and wild places for future generations.

Pure Adventure is a one-day experience in which fathers and sons meet for a time of fun, outdoor 

activities, deepened communication and inspirational messages. The result is a foundation for a father-son relationship to last a lifetime. The Pure Adventure event is a catalyst that sets boys on the path to living their lives as godly men with proper views of purity and masculinity.

Pure Adventure was born out of the inspiration to connect fathers and sons and thereby bless the son’s passage to manhood.

BUSY & DISTRACTED

It’s not just a moment. It’s a week, a month, a year…and then another one. Men in our culture are consumed by hundreds of responsibilities, while kids are routinely engaged in multiple, simultaneous forms of activity. With these demands pulling us in so many directions, sometimes it seems nearly impossible for dads and sons to find time to connect.

Pure Adventure provides a chance for dads and sons to unplug from busy schedules and lay a foundation for a stronger lifelong relationship. Each Pure Adventure event is focused on equipping fathers to lead their sons on the path to becoming godly men.

SERVE ONE MISSION STRATEGY

It is our hope that with Serve One, organizations will find a freshly innovative take on the concept of missions. In partnering with Serve One, organizations find themselves with a very accessible way to actually go and serve, not just once, but by building a lifelong relationship. When a church or organization commits its time and resources to another village or community and travels there to know the people, to live with them for a while, to help in meeting their greatest needs, then it is no longer just a mission; it’s a relationship. In partnering with Serve One, you are opening the door to life-changing, culture-changing relationships.

Serve One core tenets are to identify, develop and partner with local indigenous community leadership.

We learned quickly that we can only be as effective as the leaders we work with.  Another core principle is to “enable the self-developing capabilities of the people we serve.”  In order to do that, we’re careful not to do for Costa Rican communities what they can do for themselves. Said another way… we will measure our success not by what we do, but by what they do for themselves. That, in our view, is true development.

This strategy extends through the deployment of the 5 impact areas for every community.
